Does birth under-registration reduce childhood immunization? Evidence from the Dominican Republic

This paper to sheds light on the effect of birth under-registration on health access. Childhood immunizations, a key component of health care services, are intended to be administered to all children on a standardized schedule. The paper focuses on the effect of under-registration of births on childhood immunization in the Dominican Republic, the country with the second highest percentage (22%) of children under the age of 5 without birth certificates in Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries.
